What is Chin Filler?
Chin filler, also known as chin augmentation or chin enhancement, is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure designed to improve the shape, definition, and balance of the chin. The treatment involves using hyaluronic acid (HA) dermal fillers to add structure to the chin and jawline area.
HA is a naturally occurring substance in our bodies that helps retain moisture and adds plumpness to the skin. When we inject HA filler in the lower face, it adds sharpness and definition, creating a more structured look.
What is Juvéderm Volux?
Volux is the newest hyaluronic acid-based filler in Allergan’s Juvedérm collection. What makes Volux unique is its higher concentration of HA, giving it a thicker consistency. This means that Volux is more cohesive than other fillers, making it an excellent choice for the lower face area because it creates more structure and contour.
How does Volux work?
Immediately post-injection with Volux, you’ll notice a more defined contour in your chin area due to the thickness of the hyaluronic acid. Note that some minor swelling and bruising may be present in the days following treatment.
Within two weeks after your Volux chin treatment, you’ll notice a more sculpted, chiseled chin area as any swelling decreases. We recommend a follow-up appointment at the two-week mark to evaluate your results and determine if additional product is needed.
The cohesive formula of Volux will keep the lower face area perfectly sculpted for 12+ months. Take note that because Volux is HA-based, we can dissolve it if necessary by using a dissolving enzyme.
What’s the difference between Juvéderm Voluma and Volux?
Voluma is another filler in Juvedérm’s lineup. Think of Voluma as the next most cohesive of the Juvedérm fillers behind Volux. Voluma, like Volux, is made of HA and lasts for 12+ months in the face. It’s simply a product with less thickness, meaning it has a slightly different effect than Volux when injected.
Voluma has been used effectively in the past for chin and cheek augmentation. Volux, on the other hand, is created for chin and jawline contouring. So, your injector’s product choice may depend on which regions of your face will most benefit.
When it comes to product choice, remember that each patient is different. Your injector will determine which product is best for you during your initial assessment based on factors like your age, skin laxity, bone density, and treatment history.
How does chin filler treatment make your nose look smaller?
It’s all about proportions and balance, or what injectors often call “Profile Balancing.” Profile Balancing with filler means that we use filler to augment the face from a profile view. We’re seeking to subtly harmonize the proportions of your chin, lips, and nose to give a more balanced look to the entire face.
While chin filler doesn’t directly impact the size of your nose, it adds volume to your chin, which can help harmonize your features. If you have a prominent nose and lips, adding a touch of volume and structure to your chin area can help rejuvenate and balance your look.
